View Vacancy – Business Development Associate – Creative Industries and Media

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is the UK Government’s international business development agency. DIT USA, working closely with DIT and other agencies in the United Kingdom, is charged with transatlantic trade development between the UK and the US; and with assisting US companies looking to invest in the UK. DIT USA working closely with DIT Headquarters in London, the DIT Investment Services Team, and other departmental agencies in the UK, together with representatives of the three Devolved Administrations of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, aim to drive transatlantic trade and foreign investment into the UK.

The British Consulate in Los Angeles is seeking a qualified Business Development Associates (BDA) to work in our Creative & Digital Media teamhelping to increase Foreign Direct Investment in the UK from across the Entertainment Industry. The position will report to the Sector Lead for Creative & Digital Media for the United States.

Provides overall support to the program management of the Justice and Security Dialogue project focused on Sahel and Maghreb regions. He or she provides day-to-day administrative support for the program; develops and updates informational material, conducts research, maintains program databases, and supports budget and contract management activities.!

Pay: Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in international relations or related field.
  • One (1) or more years related business or administrative experience to become familiar with general personnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles and coordination of major office activities.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Familiarity with budgets.
  • Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Excel is required. Strong computer skills in database usage is preferred.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Experience organizing conferences and meetings, making domestic and international travel arrangements preferred.

 

Research Assistant. Iran Program. US Institute of Peace.

Description:

The Research Assistant will support the Middle East and Africa Center’s work on Iran. Specific job duties are noted below. Provide research support to three Middle East experts. Conduct research and writing for two websites, The Iran Primer/The Islamists Are Coming. Monitor regional media outlets in Farsi or Arabic and English. Provide administrative support as needed to include assisting with events. Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay: $10-14 per hour

Qualifications:

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals of countries listed in a U.S. Collective Defense Arrangement per the Department of State.
